  • How do I make an appointment online?

    After payment, you will receive an email with a link to our electronic health system. Simply follow the link, complete the short intake questions and follow the prompts to our online schedule. After you make your first appointment, we will send you a link to establish your own patient portal. That will be your connection to make appointments, message your nurse practitioner, and access all things 1stCallHEALTH. If you have any problems connecting, please email us at customercare@1stcallhealth.com and we will assist you.

  • What does my subscription price cover?

    All your telehealth visits with your Nurse Practitioner are included in your subscription fee. There are no additional 1stCallHEALTH charges for telehealth visits or messaging with your nurse practitioner. However, prescriptions, lab tests, and x-rays are not included and will be paid directly to the pharmacy, lab, or imaging center. If you have insurance, you may be able to use it to pay for these additional services. If you do not have insurance we will work with you to find the lowest cost options available to serve your health needs.

  • Do I need to be rich to afford “Concierge” care?

    You should not have to be rich to afford access to quality primary care that focuses on you. Our prices are as affordable as we could make them in order to provide the services you deserve.

  • Why the difference in annual and monthly pricing?

    We offer significant discounts for those purchasing annual versions of our subscription service. You will see significant savings compared to the per month pricing when you purchase an annual plan. You choose the plan that is best for you.

  • What are the subscription periods?

    Annual plans are 12 months and begin on the date of purchase. For example, if you purchase a plan on June 1, 2022, then your annual subscription period ends on May 31, 2023

    Monthly plans begin on the date of the purchase through the same date the following month. For example, if you purchase a plan on June 1, 2022, then your monthly subscription period ends on June 30, 2022.

  • I already paid for a month, can I upgrade to annual and get a credit for the month I already used?

    When you upgrade to an annual plan from a monthly plan, the annual plan will take effect immediately and we will refund your credit card for the last payment you made on your Month to Month plan.

  • How many visits can I have with my Nurse Practitioner per month?

    There is no limit on your telehealth visits. Whatever you and your nurse practitioner feel is what you need to serve your needs.

  • If I have insurance, can I use my insurance to pay for 1stCallHEALTH?

    No. We do not take insurance. We can offer lower costs because we do not have the administrative overhead involved with insurance claims.

  • What if I want to cancel?

    We will do everything we can to meet your needs. However, if you need to cancel for any reason, we want it to be easy and transparent for you.

    • Month to Month: Cancel at any time within the subscription period and you will not be charged for the next month. No refunds will be issued.
    • 12 month subscription paid monthly: You may cancel after 8 months. Simply notify us before your next billing date and we will remove you from the service. No Refunds will be issued.
    • 12 month subscription paid yearly: You may cancel after 8 months. Simply notify us before the end of the last month you wish to be a member of 1stCallHealth and we will refund you the months that remain within your subscription period.

  • How do I pay?

    At this time, we are only taking Credit Cards for payment. However, we are exploring other options such as PayPal, Venmo, and Cryptocurrencies. Our goal is to make it easy to receive our services.

  • Do plans auto-renew?

    Yes, our monthly and annual plans are renewed automatically. Your credit card will be charged unless you terminate the service.

  • Are there extra fees and surprises?

    We do not collect payment for the cost of lab tests, x-rays, or prescription medications. You will need to pay those service providers directly. But, all of your visits with your Nurse Practitioner are included in your subscription price.

  • Is every medical test I need included in the monthly fee?

    No. Lab tests and x-rays are not included.

  • If I have a specialty consult, is that included in my monthly fee?

    No. Our service covers all of your telehealth primary care needs.

  • Why a Nurse Practitioner?

    Nurses are the most trusted professionals in the country. A full practice authority Nurse Practitioner provides a full range of primary care services to meet your needs.

  • What can a Nurse Practitioner do for me?

    A wide range of primary care services:

    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays.
    • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries.
    • Prescribe medications and other treatments.
    • Manage your overall care.
    • Coordinate your care with other specialties.
    • Educate on disease prevention and positive health and lifestyle choices.
  • What if I already have another doctor?

    1stCallHEALTH is here for whatever you need, including having a trusted partner to answer questions, coordinate your care, and take the hassle out of making an appointment. Even if you already have another doctor, we add an extra layer of peace of mind and convenience.

  • What if I don’t have a doctor?

    1stCallHEALTH provides a wide range of primary care services that can meet most of your health care needs. We would be honored to be your primary care choice.

  • Do you have an office?

    At this time, we offer only virtual telehealth primary care. However, we will be opening up an office for in person primary care appointments soon. Stay tuned!

  • What is Virtual Care?

    Virtual care through 1stCallHEALTH is a combination of video telehealth visits and secure messaging through our patient portal. You can schedule a telehealth appointment when you need to have a video telehealth call for real time discussions or ask questions and request refills through the secure messaging system in the patient portal. A telehealth visit is necessary for orders of labs, x-rays and all new prescriptions.

  • Why do you say it is a “relationship”?

    1stCallHEALTH is a subscription service where you get to choose your Nurse Practitioner. You can talk to the same healthcare professional every time you need care or have a question. You get to know them and they get to know you. It is like having a nurse practitioner in the family.

  • How often can I talk to my Nurse Practitioner?

    As often as you need. Having a subscription with 1stCallHEALTH means you don’t pay us by the visit. It is a monthly or yearly subscription which pays for all the visits you need each month or each year.

  • How do I know if this is the right service for me?

    Health care is very personal. We will work hard to meet your needs. If you are interested in trying us, you can pay for one month and see if it fits. If it does, we would be honored to serve you.

  • Do I have to have a special computer or camera to use 1stCallHEALTH?

    You will need a computer or phone that has a camera built into it. Think of how you would use something like Facetime or Zoom.

  • What does “Concierge” mean?

    We are dedicated directly to you and your care. We do not take insurance and there is not a corporation between you and your Nurse Practitioner.

  • Can I use your services in all 50 States?

    At this time, 1stCallHEALTH is only available in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. We can only offer services in States where nurse practitioners have “full practice authority”. That means that a nurse practitioner can provide the same primary care services of a general practice physician. There are currently 23 states that offer independent nurse practitioner primary care. The good news is that more and more States are realizing the value of nurse practitioners and moving to expand patient access to their care.

  • What States are you in right now?

    Currently, we are only in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. We look forward to expanding to other States soon.

  • What do I do if I have an emergency?

    You need to call 911 or go to an emergency room or urgent care. However, message your 1stCallHEALTH Nurse Practitioner when you can and let them know your situation. They will follow up with you to find out how they can support you.

  • Does 1stCallHEALTH take insurance?

    No. We are in a direct relationship with our patients.

  • Why don’t you take insurance?

    We work for you, not an insurance company. Insurance companies require a lot of time and paperwork to get paid for services. If we took insurance, we would have to charge you more for your care in order to hire the people in the middle to work with the insurance companies.

  • Is it private?

    We have a secure network partner, are HIPAA compliant, and all of your records belong to you.

  • Can anyone use your service?

    We do not take patients less than 3 years of age.
